No matter which Academic Program you choose, Nacel can provide you with an opportunity to experience a foreign culture, first hand. In your host family and at school, you will encounter a wealth of new sights, sounds and tastes. You will have a chance to listen to ideas and perspectives that may challenge your own. As long as you have the willingness to question preconceptions and discover new possibilities in yourself, your program will be ultimately rewarding.
Eligibility Criteria
Students who wish to apply for a Nacel Academic Program must be between 15 to 17 years old at time of departure and demonstrate;
- excellent social skills
- an interest in different languages and cultures
- a capacity to adapt to a new and different environment
- a mature, open, and flexible attitude
Language Requirements
For French, Spanish and English speaking destinations: Two or more years of study in the appropriate language.
For all other destinations: No formal academic requirements. However students will be expected to achieve basic conversational skills prior to departure. Some countries may offer optional Tutorial. If the student does not reach a suitable level of linguistic understanding, he/she may be required to take part in additional tutoring at his/her own expense.
Program Includes:
- Local orientation upon arrival or soon after
- Transfers to and from the host family
- School and host family placements
- Mandatory school fees
- Constant support during the whole program
- Medical, liability and emergency return insurance
- All applicable taxes
Program does not include:
- All domestic and international flights
- Passport & visa fees
- School or sport uniforms
- Local transportation [e.g. bus pass]
- Non mandatory school fees
- Cost for optional Tutorial, if applicable
- Personal spending money
- All other personal expenses
